Otay Ranch Educational Opportunities The first K-6 elementary school site in Otay Ranch is located here. According to the Chula Vista Elementary School District, construction for the 700-student year-round elementary school is underway with completion scheduled for Fall 2001. Special amenities planned for this new school include a courtyard design concept that groups students of similar ages, computers and large-screen monitors in each class room, and after hours child care. Until the elementary school is opened, children in K-6 will attend one of three nearby elementary schools. The nearby Rancho del Rey Middle School and Eastlake High School, which graduated its first class in 1995, currently serve older students in Otay Ranch.
