The Plan for Mixed-Use Promenade at Otay Ranch Town Center Gets "Smart Growth" Certification

Baldwin & Sons’ Promenade at Otay Ranch Town Center was awarded the Circulate Mobility Certification on November 1, 2018 from a smart growth advocacy group Circulate San Diego. Colin Parent, Executive Director and General Counsel at Circulate San Diego said, “The committee members were very impressed with the project. We are excited to support it.”

Otay Ranch Ranked #10 on Top Master Planned Communities of 2018

 

We are honored to once again be mentioned on the list of the 50 Top-Selling Masterplans by John Burns Real Estate Consulting. Otay Ranch, the Master-Planned community built by Baldwin & Sons, is the 10th best-selling master planned community in the United States, moving up four spots from last year's ranking.

The requirements to make the list were based off the following:

- Having a range of home sizes, types, and prices and a variety of builders

- Consistent themes, such as signage, landscaping, lighting, street names, mailboxes, etc.

CEO Al Baldwin and Baldwin & Sons were mentioned in the latest edition of Our Hometown Magazine, a source for local community news and events happening in Chula Vista. We were honored to support the South Bay Pumpkin Smash event as it was a huge success. In addition, Al Baldwin was given a shout out for his donation to South Bay Community Services. Otay Ranch is #14 on Top Master Planned Communities of 2017

According to an extensive study by John Burns Real Estate Consulting, Otay Ranch, the Master-Planned community built by Baldwin & Sons, is the 14th best-selling master planned community in the United States.

The Top 50 list of Master Planned Communities was based on Net Sales in 2017. Otay Ranch ranked #14 after selling 563 homes and posting a 254% year-over-year growth in 2017.

To qualify, Master Planned Communities must have multiple builders selling, shared amenities, consistent branding and more.

Baldwin & Sons Wins 2017 Family-Owned Business of the Year Award for Longevity

On June 14th, 2017, the Orange County Business Journal hosted their 18th annual Family-Owned Business Awards at the Hotel Irvine. About 325 people were in attendance as Baldwin & Sons received the 2017 Family Owned Business Award for Longevity. This award recognizes family-owned businesses in Orange County for their business accomplishments as well as their contributions to the local community.

Memorial Day Street Dedication

On Friday, May 26th, the City of Chula Vista dedicated seven new streets to fallen soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Iraq as part of a partnership between the city and Baldwin & Sons.

Chula Vista Deputy Mayor John McCann, Navy Rear Admiral James McNeal and other city officials were there to honor and express gratitude of the families of these soldiers. Each family was also given a street sign replica to take home with them as a gift. The families of the fallen soldiers were among 200 others in attendance for the dedication of the street names.
